Lina Jazi Chehab is the President & CEO of Terra Nova Consulting, Inc., an environmental consulting firm based in Houston and New York. She founded Terra Nova in 2011 as a spin-off from Environmental Consulting Services, Inc. that she co-founded in 1995.

Lina was featured as a success story in the Houston Business Journal in 1999 and 2005, and by the Small Business Administration Houston District in 2009. She was also featured in the Houston Business Journal in 2013 as an expert on the impact of oil and gas exploration on the environment.

Lina is an avid advocate of education, children causes, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability. She is actively involved with several universities and educational not-for-profit organizations. She currently serves on the International Advisory Council for the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and on the Advisory Board of the Moise A. Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies at NC State. She formerly served on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World at the Lebanese American University (LAU), and on the Board of Directors of the Rene Mouawad Foundation and the Arab American Educational Foundation. She has been a strong supporter and promoter of AUB and served in different capacities on the Board of Directors of AUB’s Alumni Association of North America between 2001 and 2008. She was also a member of the City of Houston Mayor’s International Affairs & Development Council.

Lina earned a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Environmental Health from the American University of Beirut and a Master of Sciences degree in Environmental Sciences form the University of Texas.

Vice President

Denise Challita has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from the University of Dayton. She designed and developed software at Lockheed Martin IMS for many complex municipal communication and transportation systems until 1999, when she decided to devote herself to raising her three children. Although Denise stepped out of the traditional workplace, she continued to dedicate herself to philanthropy work. She has spearheaded fundraising campaigns for the French American School of New York and the St. John Paul II Church. In addition, She has worked hands-on with the Independent Residences organization, receiving the Dreams into Reality™ Award for her work to help improve the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families.

Denise El Chaar is a Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income with First Republic Investment Management.

 

Mrs. El Chaar joined First Republic in 2019. Prior to joining First Republic, she was Chief and Senior Investment Officer for the United Nations in New York, responsible for an investment team managing assets in excess of $10 billion consisting of corporate cash, endowments, trust funds and insurance funds. Mrs. El Chaar’s prior position at the United Nations was as an Investment Officer at the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund where she was responsible for managing the funds’ global and multi-currency fixed income portfolio. Prior to her work at the United Nations, she worked at Bank of New York and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York where she was a Senior Financial and Economic Analyst. Prior work experience also includes Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Apple Computer, Credit Risk Management at BNP Paribas and Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange Derivative Sales and Trading at Société Générale.

 

Mrs. El Chaar is an Ambassador and mentor for Girls Who Invest, a member of the 100 Women in Finance, 7 Degrees of Women in Finance and the Financial Women’s Association.

 

Mrs. El Chaar earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from L’ Institut d’Études Politique de Paris.

Mazen Ghafeer is Finance Director for Les Poochs Fragrances. He is an active member for the Lebanese American University (LAU) NY/NJ Chapter and a co-founder of LAU Detroit Chapter. Mazen has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from LAU, a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Emporia State University, and a Master’s degree in Accounting from Wayne State University.

Hanna Madbak is the principal partner and co-founder of Siber Law LLP, a boutique New York law firm. Hanna is a strategic legal executive with deep expertise acting as the outside in-house counsel, advising senior executives on a range of legal issues relating to intellectual property management, technology transfers, general corporate and commercial matters, SaaS licensing, and regulatory compliance in data protection and privacy.

Prior to practicing law, Hanna worked as a systems design engineer in Silicon Valley with the research and development group at KLA-Tencor, the world leader in semiconductor testing equipment.

Hanna has produced various works in music and photography, and believes in art as a means for healing societal wounds and building bridges between cultures.

Hanna received a law degree focusing on the common law tradition (Bachelor of Laws/J.D.) and a law degree focusing on the civil law tradition (Baccalaureate of Civil Law) from McGill Law School, Montreal, where he was an editor for the McGill Law Journal. He graduated summa cum laude from DeVry University with a B.S. in Electronics Engineering. Hanna is an active member of the New York State Bar and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Hanna has been an active member of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Civil Liberties for over 10 years.
